My Parents are Sex Maniacs

My Parentsby Robyn Harding

Blah. It started out somewhat interesting, but it’s kind of just a run of the mill teen novel. Should I have known this by the cover art? I kind of liked the illustration though. The only part I liked was how the protagonist, Louise, is forgiving and compassionate to those around her. Maybe some people just are. Is it realistic?

Empire State of Mind

Empire-State-of-Mind-Jay-Z-Alicia

by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys

Live like you give a damn… Okay, let’s talk about shivers and inspiration. I love this song and I heard it on the YouTube Live Alicia Keys concert. I’ve decided something. I want my children to grow up somewhere with energy. I wish I had grown up somewhere with a lot of energy. I feel like Toronto is a little dead on its feet. People do things, but it feels lacking, feels half done.

But it is a state of mind and I should do more to create that energy by choosing the places to go and the things I do. If my children go to a show 20 years from now and only end up bobbing their head a bit, I will feel like I’ve failed them. I don’t want them dead on their feet.
