When I was talking to Jess the other day I thought about something that this book stated. That sometimes people are less than the supposed sum of their parts. Or something along those lines. I need to get the movie or skim through the book for the exact line.

But I think that it's really true. That sometimes as a whole things look good, really good. But then when you start to take it all apart, you realize that the sum of the parts really don't add up to much, that some people can really come up short, be lacking. But you'd only really see it when you bothered to take a deeper look, dive below the exterior.

I'd really like to re-watch that movie. It was pretty much the book verbatim.

I went to an event at Indigo today where Rick and Bruce were discussing their book. It wasn't really anything new, just basically a summary or review of their book. I'm glad I went, but I often find these things not really all that useful or enlightening for people who have actually read the book. They're more for people who they want to get to read it.

Still they mentioned that they're going to be writing a second book and so I'll keep my eyes posted on the horizon for that.

But one really annoying similarity between The Hunger Games and the Twilight series is the love triangle of this irresistible girl who has no clue of the impact she has on certain guys.

One good thing though is that Katniss isn't as delicate as Bella. She doesn't need to be protected or watched over. Stephenie Meyer took girls back to helpless little things. Great.

I really felt kind of embarrassed for Natalie Portman and her acceptance speech. All she could go on about was how her fiance apparently really did want to sleep with her (haha, since she's pregnant). Somehow I guess I just have this feeling that that's not going to turn out too well for her.

Despite a bit of a cocky attitude at the Golden Globes, I really liked how Christian Bale gave a shout out to Mark Wahlberg, saying that he was only really able to be so loud and so boisterous with such a quiet costar. And I think that was a great balance. I hope he goes on to win an Oscar as well.

I've been wondering when this movie would come out. Apparently it made it into TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), so I'm looking forward to it perhaps making it out onto the big screen where I can see it finished. I thought it was pretty funny, so I'd love to see how it ended up in the end.

It kind of makes me think though, did they all end up lost in heaven? Did they all kind of live this pseudo life in heaven and then when they really touched one another, they remembered who they had been to each other on the island?

Pretty confusing, but still really beautiful. I'd like to watch the whole series, but man, who has the time? It's not even something I can start up from where I left off. I'd need to start from the beginning again.
